Philippines
Tuesday, December 28, 2010The main reason my family and relative flew to the Philippines was for my cousin's wedding. The flight to the Philippines felt so long!! We left SFO, then stopped by Guam to refuel. We were in Guam for about 50 or minutes.. then it was another 2 hours to get to the Philippines. It was a total of 16 hours all together! So tiring. The cool thing on the plane was that there were touch screens in front of us, and we can do a bunch of things on there such as choose movies to watch listen to albums play games etc. They had some really good movies on there too. i only watched one movie which was step up 3 and the rest of the movies I fell asleep to. I was feeling nauseous so I just slept most of the time there. The airplane food wasn't that bad. They served filipino food. lol
I think we got to the Philippines about 4:30 am Philippines time. We took a while looking for a our luggage because we had a lot of "balikbayan boxes."Once we step foot out of the airport, I felt the Philippines weather. It was humid pretty hott. I felt really sticky and I just wanted to shower already.. but that didn't happen. We couldn't check into our hotel yet because it was too early, so we headed to my cousin's condo and hung out there for a bit. Then once it was time to check in, we just changed into some shorts and began exploring. We stayed at the Richmonde Eastwood Hotel. I think it's in quezon city? idk. lol. After we went go get our dresses fitted. Theoretically the place was about 30 minutes away, but with all the traffic in Manila, it felt about an hour. lol.
After we got out dresses fitted we went out to eat at this Ramen bar near our hotel. My cousin's condo was also across the street from our hotel which was very convenient. The Ramen bar was pretty good. First time having Ramen. lol. Then.. we headed back to my cousin's condo and she wanted to take us to greenhills, so we waited in line for a taxi, and fit 6 ppl, including the driver, in a 5 seater car. oh gash.. and the driving there in the philippines is just crazy!! people be making up their own lanes a lot of honking going on. Sometimes it's hard to cross the street bc the drivers don't want to stop for u... and that's when you have to be an aggressive pedestrian. it's just really scary to me.
My brother and cousin and i had no sleep after that 16 hour flight from SFO to P.I. we wanted to get use to the timezone so we forced ourselves to stay awake n be active. But when 7pm started to roll around we were feeling delirious up in greenhills. i couldn't think.. I didn't feel like shopping.. i was just out of it. All we did basically was just get sim cards or our phones.. then we finally headed to our hotel and showered!! and fell asleep.
The next day we walked around the shopping areas around our hotel. I still wasn't in the shopping mood. in fact, I was never in the shopping mood in the Philippines.. That's why i barely got anything for me or anybody. lol. Oh well!
I can't remember everything day by day.. so i'll just go on, on how i remembered things.
Their starbucks pastries were pretty darn good. they also had mango passion fruit ice blend which was pretty good. and belgian waffles with carmel filling on top. mmm.. Their mc donalds sell chicken rice and spaghetti. lol! Most things are cheaper there, other things that are imported can be more expensive. I think all we did there was EAT! hahah! I spent most of my money on food!
ehh should i cut to the chase and post pictures already? i think that's what i'm going to do
Here's the TV screen i was tellin' yall about.

I felt like I was 21 in the P.I. they don't really care about the age limit for drinking, just as long as you have the money to pay for it. legally it's 18, and i'm above that age. lol.
